Taylee Mae Turns 1

How can my baby be one year old already??  It makes me sad just thinking about it.  On the other hand, I am glad that she is developing and continues to grow, because well, it's normal.  We didn't do anything special on Taylee's actual birthday, which was the 3rd, because we were having lots of family over on Sunday to celebrate.  On her birthday we put a candle in a slice of watermelon for her.  She tried to grab the candle (of course) and started crying.  On the bright side, she she now freezes when you say, "hot."  She got a baby swing to put out on the swing set for her birthday.  She LOVES it.  I love that the kids can push her in the swing and she stays happy AND clean.  Win-win.

A few things about Taylee:

-She is an amazing eater.  She eats nearly anything (except prunes).  She loves tomatoes and nearly any other fruit and vegetable I have given her.

-She is a horrible drinker.  I nursed her for the last time 2 nights ago (sniff, sniff) and have been so torn about being done because she does not drink well from a sippy cup.  It isn't that she can't, it's that she won't.  She takes tiny sips and then pushes the cup away if I am holding it, or if she is holding it she throws it on the ground.  We are talking less than 10 ounces a day, unless I make a smoothie and feed it to her in a cup with a straw.  She does like prune juice, and gets it nearly daily because she struggles with constipation.  Badly.

-She loves to snuggle and will randomly crawl over to me and put her head on my shoulder.

-She is a fast little crawler.  No walking yet, although she has started to pull herself up to things and is now cruising.  She goes up and down stairs.  She will whine at the top of the stairs until someone comes beneath her, and then will only crawl down if you stay by her.  She fell down once, and must still remember.  What a blessing!

-She wants to be where the action is, and the kids have started carrying her out of the room and closing the door so she doesn't ruin what they are playing.  This is when we see the red come out in her hair. :)

-She had 8 teeth when she turned one and now has 10!  She chews her food well with those chompers.  I give her nearly everything and she chews it without choking.

-Nicknames we have given her:  Mae Mae, Tay Mae, Tay or Tay Tay, Strawberry Shortcake, Babes

We love our sweet chubby Taylee, and can't imagine what we would do without her!
