Another round of mastitis (chills, VERY achy, fever, etc). I don't know what to do. I pump every night right before bed, I sleep on my side (very hard to do when you love to sleep on your back), drink lots of water, exercise, eat right, etc. Hmmm...
Sunday Hayden had 2 teeth cut through! I'm glad it was just 2. I kept having this repetitive dream that he had 6 teeth come in at the same time. I think maybe subconsciously I'm worried about him growing up too fast for me. :)
He's also trying to learn to crawl. He gets so frustrated because I think he wants to go one direction, but doesn't know how to move his body to do it yet. He is constantly up on his hands and knees and often scoots himself backwards or gets into the push-up position. I don't feel too bad for him about not having it down yet, he seems to get where he wants to go by rolling and scooting (and gets into everything). He crawled from one end of the couch to the other yesterday, so I'm sure he'll have crawling down in the next couple of weeks!
He loves going for jogs in the stroller, which we get to do almost everyday with the nice weather! I'm so glad I got a jogging stroller, it has been amazing. Hayden often falls asleep before the end of the jogs. He just gets so excited about the outside world that he didn't know existed for the first 6 months of his life. :)
This past week we have loved being outside because the weather has been beautiful. We went on a picnic at the park last week and threw a frisbee around (until Hayden started fussing because we weren't close to him). It was Hayden's first picnic!

On Friday we went out to eat at Red Lobster. It was my first time. Dax has been there before with work, and even though he isn't a big sea food guy he humored me. I enjoyed the food, but as all sea food is it was way overpriced. Thanks Mom and Dad for the gift card!
Hayden loved looking at the Lobsters...he hasn't seen many real creatures in his life. :)
On Saturday we went to the airport in Flagstaff because they had a grounded airshow. You could just go up and look at all of the planes that they had there. We had a good time. I'm sure Dax was a little bummed he didn't have another guy to talk to about all of the planes, but oh well. :)
We also went and played tennis on Saturday. We got cut a little short again because Hayden was mad that we were farther away from him, but we still had a good time. It has been ages since I've played, and I was definitely rusty.
On Tuesday we went jogging with our friends Jason and Courtney after Dax got off work. There is a park that is full of looped trails of different distances. We did the 2 mile loop. It is a good place to go jogging because you don't have to worry about cars, but the downside is it gets the stroller a little dusty and we have to drive 10 minutes to get there. You can almost get a work out in by the time you drive there and back!
Anyway, we are loving the nice weather in Flagstaff (although it has been a little rainy the last few days)!
I've never been a huge tv show watcher. Even when Dax and I watched tv shows, we usually just watch the seasons that are over on dvd. However, I just happened to turn on the tv right when the first episode of this season's Biggest Loser was starting. I have very faithfully watched the episodes of this season, and last night was the season finale! I love watching this show, it is so great to be able to see people change their lives and realize all that they can do. It is also motivating for me to never get to that point, because prevention is way easier than treatment.
Anyway, I can't believe that Helen won. How she made it to the finale I have no idea, and how she lost 23 pounds at home I have no idea either. She lost 140 lbs!! That is more than I weigh (I won't say how much more)...she lost an entire woman! I was hoping Tara would win honestly. Dax never cared for Tara because she won nearly every challenge (he is always rooting for underdogs), but I say if she was really willing to give her all then she deserved to win all the time. Especially since she was up against a lot of guys that you'd think would beat her. I liked Mike, but I didn't like Ron so much because he should have been eliminated long before he was. Lastly, GO Jerry! A 64 year-old man losing 177 lbs is so amazing.

So now you know my guilty pleasure: watching Biggest Loser. My family has a reunion in 3 months and I'm thinking about suggesting a Biggest Loser competition between us kids and my parents. In-laws aren't included because they don't have any weight to lose (funny that we all married toothpicks)! Kim would be excluded as well, being pregnant, and also not having any weight to lose as well. We'll see if we end up doing it!
So I was on a friend's blog and read a quote from President Hinckley about how we need to look for the good in people. He said we need to stop being so pessimistic and start being more positive. Wow, what a wake up call. Generally I wouldn't say that I'm a pessimistic person, but my walk the other day (if you read my previous post, which is now deleted) put me in one of my fouler moods. I started thinking about how all of those people probably had a long ways to drive and that I should be grateful for modern transportation that gets me where I need to go. Everyone has challenges that they are dealing with in their lives, and the only thing I can do is to do the best I can with my challenges and help others to overcome theirs. We all have a hard enough time without making life harder for other people with negativism. We all also have a hard enough time without being negative towards ourselves. God loves us for who we are, and He stands ready to help us become the people He knows we can be. Sadly I didn't "choose" to be humble in this instance, I was more "compelled" to be humble by the words of a prophet of God (Alma 32:13-16). Thank goodness for the opportunity to change and become better.
On a lighter note...Dax will be home in the early afternoon tomorrow! Even if he forgets Mother's Day because he's been gone, it will be a present enough that he's coming home. We've missed him!
Dax has been gone for exactly 2 hours and already Hayden and I are lonely without him. He went to the mini baja competition in Portland, OR. So I've got to figure out what to do with myself for the next few days. I don't really plan on cooking meals just for me, and usually I spend a good chunk of my day making things for Dax and then spending time with him when he is home from work. We'll probably go on lots of jogs/walks, hit the library for some books, and go to Redbox. Any other suggestions to pass the time?
Today is our 3rd anniversary! Wow, I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. When May 5th turned out to be the best day to get married I was a little bummed because I told my mom that people would always remember it as Cinco de Mayo. She told me that no one would think that...9 out of 10 people that know today is our anniversary say something about Cinco de Mayo! It doesn't help that Dax is at work eating nachos in honor of Cinco de Mayo. He actually suggested we have them for dinner on Cinco de Mayo as a tradition...for our anniversary. He really is romantic sometimes, I think he was just teasing me because he knew I wouldn't think that is romantic.
It is hard to remember life without Dax, as funny as that sounds. I am so grateful for him and all that he does for me. Especially since we have had Hayden he is so willing to do whatever I need help doing. Even changing messy diapers! I can honestly say that Dax is the most selfless person I know. He would HAPPILY give the shirt off his back to a random man walking down the street with no shirt. He is not into material possessions or status. He is just sincere and tries to do his best at whatever he does. It doesn't hurt that he is tall, dark, and handsome as well. :)
In short, Dax is the man of my dreams, and I love him so much. Here's to a wonderful 3 years; I'm looking forward to many more to come!
