Day 5-Sunday relaxation

Originally we planned to go to church in Playa del Carmen (20 minutes away...after the mile walk to the highway), but decided to fast like we would have back home.  The members of our church in our community were doing a fast of gratitude for the month, and we decided that on such a wonderful vacation we should definitely show our gratitude for our blessings.  But I thought Dax trying to walk the mile to church in the humidity at the end of a fast wouldn't be the best idea for him, so we had our own devotional time.

We took it easy and relaxed and read in the hammocks and the chairs under the grass umbrella huts.  Dax took a nap.  It was a nice recharge after being so busy on Friday and Saturday, and to prep for the busy days Monday and Tuesday to follow.

P.S. I love hammocks.  Our guide told us although the mayan women usually have 10+ kids they don't get varicose veins because they sleep in hammocks!
Not the best picture, but this is one of the buffets.  This one is enclosed with a roof and netting to keep the birds out.

This is the night we discovered the beauty of the Creperie.  An outdoor restaurant that serves crepes, ice cream, and milk shakes.  Yum.
